More About Me - Collaboration and Partnership Working
Many funding bodies and government strategies now expect voluntary and statutory agencies to be working in partnership before they can get funding. I have set up and contributed to several joint working initiatives and multi-agency projects.
In my role as Development and Communication Manager with the Big Lottery Fund, I led consultation to inform strategic planning and set funding priorities across Yorkshire. I planned and delivered the Fair Share initiative in Yorkshire, a programme of events and information to increase take up of Lottery grants by hard to reach groups. This involved close working with voluntary and statutory agencies in Rotherham, Doncaster, Wakefield and Kirklees.
In particular I negotiated an innovative joint funding initiative with Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber (Objective 1) and set up networks of funding advisors to support voluntary and community groups who were applying for Lottery Funding. The target of £18 million take up in grants over three years was exceeded.
At Voluntary Action Leeds, I established the Voluntary Sector role in the New Deal consortium which won the Government contract to deliver work experience and training for unemployed young people. Other major partners were Leeds City Council, the Employment Service and the Careers Guidance Service.
Since setting up my own company in 2006 I have been commissioned by a number of sub-regional infrastructure consortia and national partnerships to evaluate and develop projects, services and strategic plans.
